Breadsticks

Back to the Baked Index

Pre-heat your oven to 350F.

In large bowl combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit until the yeast is dissolved.

Add 1 cup of the flour and stir until smooth. Add salt and more flour. Knead it on a floured surface for about 10 minutes (or give it a minute in your food processor) until you've got a smooth ball. Let it rest for 30 minutes.

Roll the dough out on a large cookie sheet and square it off. You can cut it into 10 or so seperate logs, or into four squarish, flavorful slider buns. Let it rest for another half hour.

Melt 0.5 cube of butter with garlic salt and Italian seasonings (as much as you want). When the butter has cooled slightly, drizzle it over the top of the dough.

Top with Parmesan cheese and bake at 350°F for about 25 minutes or until done.

If you didn't divide it into logs before baking, then you can now cut it in strips with a sharp knife or a pizza cutter (long ways down the middle and then accross however wide you want).

This makes 10 or so breadsticks, depending on how they are cut.
