Oven-Baked Fries

Optional Additional Flavorings:

Cut your potatoes (peeled or not, as you wish) into 0.25" strips, and soak them in a bowl of iced water laced with the white vinegar for twenty minutes.

Drain the chips and dry them on a clean kitchen towel as best you can.

Stir the salt and oil, along with anything else you fancy, in a large bowl and set it aside.

Toss the potatoes into the bowl with the oil, mixing it up so everything is well coated.

EITHER:

Pre-heat your oven to 425°F.

Using a slotted spoon or spatula, arrange the potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake them in your pre-heated oven for 20–30 minutes, turning them half way through so they brown all over.

OR:

Pre-heat your air-fryer to 375°F.

Air-fry the chips for 15 minutes, then toss them about and air-fry for another 10 minutes. If they look done, they're done.

Depending on how thick you sliced them, they should be cooked through and crisp on the outside, but they could need another 5 minutes. Serve immediately.
