Pre-heat your oven to 250F.
Place the ribs, boney-side down, in a roasting pan, sprinkle them with a little salt and pepper, and spread the minced garlic over them.
Cover the pan tightly with foil and roast the ribs in the pre-heated oven for 2 hours.
Drain any rendered fat and juices, pour half the barbecue sauce over the ribs, re-cover the pan and return it to the oven.
Roast for 1 more hour then remove the cover, add the rest of the sauce, and put it back in the oven for a final half hour to heat and thicken the sauce.
